I have some revisions to propose to rule #4, I'll bold the area I'll be talking about.
As current
4.) Interrupting is prohibited.
Rule #4 covers two different situations.
"Double Posting" is the act of posting after you have made a post.
Double posting is sloppy, Editing your previous post is the best thing you can do.
If it is a different thought(2), or the second or first post was massive(1), then double posting is allowed.
AND
It is extremely rude to Hijack someones topic.
By that i mean, lets say someone makes a thread, and you join in and try to make it your own. This is a big No-No
(1)Simply put I find this statement to be utterly self-contradictory... As far as I have experimented there is no character limit on a post. As such a massive post will be able to fit within a single post. Therefore there is no reason why a massive post should be split into two separate posts in succession.
(2)Secondly I find this aspect of the rule totally redundant... if the post is to express a new thought.. then editing the post would work just as well. Also if they wish to express this new thought they could also do so AFTER another person posts. The statement that "expressing a different thought" allows members to double post, shares... I guess a "definition" with an english term; A Sentence. A sentence expresses a complete thought. As such if someone writes a sentence that is long enough to avoid the spam rule, they can then end their post there, and then post a continuation DIRECTLY AFTER.
As such I propose this revision based on the above arguements.
