Wolf Warriors: Eternal Twilight - Page 6 Empty

******** Sayre *********

Sayre panted as she caught up to Blaze, who had stopped at the front of the pack with Amethyst and the other wolfess.
" You mean you've also seen these beings?" asked the she-wolf as they neared, her eyes wide with shock " You've also seen and heard the Ardor?"
The she dragon-wolf nodded, " Yes, these 'false' angels came to the Great Tree a few days ago, they took away most of the loners that were living there through a rift of some kind... Blaze, Makair, and I almost went in it ourselves, but Blaze was able to resist the spell, and he snapped us out of it.
However, despite our efforts to save them, they still took many of the lone wolves... what happened to them after, however, is still unknown..."
The dark brown wolfess with the odd white star-shaped patch of fur spoke, " These 'angels' are called Ardor, they came to the clan grounds of the Warriors about a few days ago as well, they tried to fool us, tried to sacrifice our Keeper.
When I stopped them, they turned on us and attacked, Nom, Nor'a, and Parjai came to our aid, but in the end, we were forced to sign a deal with the Shadowscar clan."
Shadowscar clan? Even though she had never heard word nor seen them before, the very sound of the name made Sayre's soul shiver.
" You... you don't possibly think that... those two incidents are possibly linked together somehow, do you?" Sayre asked the wolfess nervously, but firmly, " These Ardor, as you call them, one of them scarred my brother for eternity..."
As she said so, she glanced over at the cross-shaped scar on her brother's muzzle, growling as the terrible memory came rushing back to her.

******** Moonstar and Amethyst *********

Moonstar nodded, " It's possible... I don't know about you... but when the Shadowscar came to us to sign the deal after they 'dealt' with the Ardor, their leader.... he seemed to have given a malice laced smirk before he left. Something about him isn't right..."
The music seemed to grow louder as they walked deeper, it was suddenly drowned out by a large cracking noise.
The noise, it was so loud... Moonstar could've sworn the very earth had shattered into a million pieces.
Amethyst, however, seemed very concerned by the noise, and her eyes were seeming distant.
' What is this... odd release of power I'm feeling?' she thought, before she stumbled again, hearing the blood rushing to her ears, breathing hard as if her pounding heart may leap up into her throat.
" Mother!!!" Moonstar cried out, rushing to her mother's aid, " Mother, what's wrong?! Answer me!!!"
Amethyst gasped, her paws clutching at her chest desperately, " He's coming... he's coming!!!!"
Suddenly, there was a spontaneous blast of energy, sweeping through the base of the Great Tree.
Many of the clan wolves were knocked aside by the powerful energy release, while on others, it began to have strange effects.
Amethyst's eyes widened as she felt the energy, such infernal power!! " It's him, IT'S HIM!!!"
Moonstar quickly supported her mother, now almost on the verge of collapse, " Help! Someone help me over here!"

******** Sayre **********

The sudden burst of energy seemed to overwhelm the wolves, either knocking them back or having odd effects on them.
' Ohh..... wh-what's going on?' she thought to herself, feeling dizzy.
Her ability seemed to be absorbing the demonic essence of the energy into herself, and she slowly grew a bit bigger, felt a bit older.
' Am I.... aging?' she asked, noting that she was a bit bigger than before, and her mind was starting to think differently, more seriously...
And, strangely enough, an odd sense of power welled up in her, she felt virile, refreshed, stronger and tougher.
Her legs began to swell and bulk with new muscle, her eyes flashed a glowing green momentarily, then reverted back to their old color, she felt more vicious, able to take on anything!
Her wings grew slightly bigger, her horns longer, and strange, purplish crystalline spikes began to push up through the skin between her shoulderblades, soon rushing down the length of her back as well.
The shy, submissive little pup within was pushed to the back of her mind, yet, her natural ability to absorb essences was diluting the demonic energies in her, so that it did not take her over.
Upon looking to her side, she noticed Blaze was starting to change as well, thick, reddish-black serrated horns beginning to sprout from his forehead and his eyes also flashing green before reverting to their normal color, a sign he was gaining power from the energy.
Thick, red, ribbed muscle lined with membranous tissue pushed out from behind his shoulders, growing to immense size and blossoming like flowers in spring, proud wings spreading wide.
His body began to emit flames erractically, and many wolves around him shrank back to avoid getting burned, but some of the flames turned black, black with a bright white core, and his opened his mouth, both red and black flames streaming out his mouth in wide, hot bursts.
This burst of power felt so, amazing!! Sayre was ecstatic as the energies continued to modify their forms, making them more powerful than before.
Perhaps, maybe, they could use this sudden influx of power to their advantage....

***The Ardor***
The song echoed through the area surrounding the great tree. Hypnotizing those who were unaware of its dark secret. They had arrived, and the demonic energies leaking out of the tree was empowering them. They descended slowly at first maintaining their angelic facade... until they heard... her...
"It's him, IT'S HIM!"
They recognized the voice... she was a threat... a great one at that! One of the ardor signaled another far in the back, that held a hymn book in one hand and a trumpet upon its back. Immediately their song changed. A Large circle began to form behind the descending Ardor, its symbols were complex, but the curves of the symbols were calm and subtle in appearance. When the circle was complete a wolf stepped through, its fur was as white as snow, and feathery, fluffy white wings. It's body was draped in red cloth, its paws were armored with gold, and a complex looking disc floated above its head... some would call it a halo. It's presence was serene to many wolves.
It gave a dubious smirk.
"WARRIORS!!!! The Sun has set on your mortal world! THE ERA OF CHAOS COMES WITH MY LORD'S RETURN!!! You and the rest of these impure muts will PERISH!!! Now face the rath of the ARDOR AND THEIR LEADER ARKUS!!!"

The Ardor sped up their descent into a charge, many diving right for other wolves that had assembled, and some charging at the members of the warriors, Arkus... he went straight after Amethyst.

"She shall not interfere with my lord's return... the ground will run red with her blood..."

Wolf Warriors: Eternal Twilight - Page 6 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Wolf Warriors: Eternal Twilight   Wolf Warriors: Eternal Twilight - Page 6 EmptyTue Dec 21, 2010 11:05 am

Gyre saw the legion of Ardor, and memories of Lak's illness flashed through his head.
He stood motionless, numb to their new song, unsure what emotion to feel.
An Ardor was almost upon him when the song struck a cohesive emotion.
Anger.

Gyre dug his claws into the dirt and grit his teeth.
His primal rage guided him, and his felt... Awakened.

Gyre lifted his two front paws, and slammed them back down.
Under the flying Ardor a jagged spike exploded out from the earth, and impaled it through the torso, and slamming it into the tree root above.

By sliding his feet apart, Gyre forced a square impression around him, and with a flick of his nose to the sky, the square he stood on rose a few feet into the air, so he was visible to the nearby wolves.

Gyre shouted above the clan, and his voice carried under the canopy.
"Warriors! We fight!"

___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Lak stood over the fight, sneaking over the Clan.
He saw the Ardor, and he saw Gyre, very different than before.
The situation was grim, but seeing Gyre use his power over the earth meant he had untapped his power.
Lak yearned to see what his limit could be... But he knew he wouldn't get that opportunity.

Something deep inside him tugged, and he looked over into the horizon.
It was faint, but in the darkness he could see the massive silhouette of a tree, it's branches stretching up to meet the moon at the top of the sky.
But there was a red aura leaking from the tree, and almost at the pinnacle of the sky, the full moon had a crimson outlining, the stars behind it fading into Red.
Lak watched for a second longer, and the stars began to vanish. and the moon was getting smaller, the bloody haze was spreading across the sky, and was eating the edges of the full moon.

Lak let his jaw drop, and the tug at his core agreed with his deepest fears.
Chaos was about to break lose and devour the sky and forest.

******** Moonstar and Amethyst *********

Moonstar snarled at the all-too-familiar golden cloaked beings called the Ardor as they descended, the hymm changing a bit.
But she would not be fooled, the same trick didn't work twice on her.
She stood her ground, her mother having collapsed next to her, supporting her and keeping her eyes on the Ardor.
An angelic looking wolf, covered in red and gold, and with some sort of disc floating over it's head, came to the scene, giving a dubious smirk as it bellowed in a calming, yet disturbing tone.
Immediately, the Ardor charged, many hurtling themselves at the wolves of the already assembled clans, some made right for the Warriors themselves.
In the midst of it all, Moonstar heard Gyre's voice carry over the panicking cries of wolves, " Warriors! We fight!"
Snarling, Moonstar knew she had to fight, and turned back just as she saw Arkus, the Ardor leader, charging straight at her and Amethyst.
Knowing that she might possibly get killed in the process, Moonstar held her ground, preparing to charge and intercept him when a shout came from nearby.
" GET AWAY FROM HER!!!" came the voice of the male dragon-wolf, the one from before, but his tone was changed, it seemed older, and had a slight demonic hint to it.
She looked up to see him, running directly at Arkus, engulfed in black and red fire, horns lowered to gore him.
The she was right behind him, looking a lot different as well, joining the male in the attack.
But despite this, Moonstar stood in front of her mother's collapsed form, the bright white star on her chest glowing, preparing to attack Arkus if he got closer to them.
Beside her, Amethyst lay on the ground, feeling weak, dizzy, sickly, her purplish eyes looking up at the sky, seeing the stars and the moon slowly become swallowed up by a bleeding red haze.
Chaos was coming...soon to devour the world in darkness...

******** Sayre ***********

Sayre snarled angrily as the beings who named themselves as Ardor began to swoop down, attacking the wolf clans.
Her powers began to kick in, and a reddish-green aura surrounded her, she was going to get some payback, ohhhhhh, yes she was...
She saw one of the despicable things flying overhead, preparing to charge into a small mob of Warrior wolves.
Instantly, the reddish-green aura about her took on the shape of a large tentacle, and smacked the Ardor out of the air, pinning it to the ground.
The aura tentacle then pierced it's chest, beginning to drain it's energies into her, releasing as the Ardor fell limp and listless.
Sayre bellowed out as the siphoned energy renewed her, such power... POWER!!!
This feeling, not being helpless, not being submissive, not having to hide behind her brother this time, she was liking it.
Turning around, she noticed Blaze beginning a reckless charge at the Ardor leader, who had announced himself as Arkus, engulfed in black and red flames, horns lowered forth to gore into him.
Without thinking, she joined him in the attack, the reddish-green aura now taking on the form of twin tentacles, arching above her head, tipped with serrated, saber-like blades.
This was her time, she would show all of them what she was truly capable of.

(OOC: Got a picture of Arkus for you guys!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )
**** Arkus ****
He charged at high speed, his target in his sights. Amethyst, an age old enemy who had returned from her eternal slumber. He increased his speed, as he started getting closer he saw another wolf standing in his way... a mere nuisance. He kept running, he would run her down and destroy her for standing in his way. Then he heard a voice, his once breakneck pace came to a dead stop.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!!!"
He looked to his left, two wolves, engorged with demonic energies were charging at him... and fast.
"They are new to the affects of demonic energy... they know not how to properly control it... their bodies though... their bodies are responding more efficiently than most! They haven't died from its.."
He felt two skulls smash into him... interrupting his train of thought. He rolled on the ground and smashed with immense force into the Great Tree, near the demonic scar. The impact caused the scar to become bigger, and more energies began to seep out.

Arkus staggered momentarily, then got back on his feet.
"I told you... the sun has set, look to your moon... it is filled with blood... enthralled by the demonic energies that have come forth... and neither you, nor your precious Amethyst can save you!"
He charged once again at Amethyst, exerting his muscles to their fullest potential in an attempt to maximize his speed. He was fast, the winds screamed as he moved. Within moments he had managed to move past his attackers and made it to Moonstar, who slightly unnerved by the conflict was knocked over as Arkus charged.
"Watch now! I will murder your precious leader... abandon your foolish pride... your pathetic hope!"
Arkus' claws began to glow an intense white as he slashed at Amethyst with every ounce of strength in his body.
A sound... similar to steel striking steel was heard. His claws had hit a glowing barrier, the light was surreal, celestial, pure... a single word came to mind as the barrier's power shot Arkus flying backwards.
"Order..."
Arkus futilely tried to regain his footing as he plowed through the ground, and eventually he did. He saw the other wolves moving towards him... Moonstar as well, now unafraid of him.
"WRETCHED WITCH!!! YOU WILL DROWN IN THE BLOOD OF YOUR OFFSPRING!!! COME SERVANTS OF ORDER, THE ARDOR WILL TEAR YOU APART!!!"

(OOC: A little short I know... but hopefully my next post will be much longer... also Darkie! I did control moonstar slightly I suppose, if you have any problem please let me know and I will gladly edit my post!!)

******* Sayre ********

Sayre and Blaze tore a path right through the carnage as they charged towards Arkus, prepared to intercept him.
At Blaze's shout, the Ardor leader seemed to slow down, then stop completely, looking directly at them, and seeming in thought.
' Bad move,' Sayre thought, smirking a bit.
She felt the impact of bone against bone jar her neck as her lowered head made contact with Arkus, Blaze's as well, but brushed the minor pain aside.
The force of the dual attack sent Arkus reeling, tumbling hard to the ground and smashing into the large reddish scar in the tree's base nearby, widening it a bit more.
In the clearing, the other wolves of the clans had mixed reactions, some very bravely attacking the Ardor as the angelic-demon menaces terrorized the packs, others were running out of the clearing, intending to escape with their lives while they still had a chance.
Sayre kept her attention on Arkus, preparing to charge again as he struggled to his feet.
"I told you... the sun has set, look to your moon... it is filled with blood... enthralled by the demonic energies that have come forth... and neither you, nor your precious Amethyst can save you!" he roared, once again charging at Amethyst, moving faster this time.
Sayre and Blaze barely had time to react as the Ardor leader whipped past them, knocking the dark brown she-wolf protecting Amethyst out of his way.
"Watch now! I will murder your precious leader... abandon your foolish pride... your pathetic hope!" he shouted, his claws glowing white with energy as he lashed out at the tan wolfess, lying helpless on the ground.
Suddenly, there was a flash, as a barrier, bright white and flowing with pure, celestial energy, formed around Amethyst, knocking Arkus backwards, his feet plowing through the ground, eventually managing to get his footing back.
Snarling, Sayre, Blaze, and the dark brown she-wolf, having recovered now, advanced on Arkus, unafraid of him.
"WRETCHED WITCH!!! YOU WILL DROWN IN THE BLOOD OF YOUR OFFSPRING!!! COME SERVANTS OF ORDER, THE ARDOR WILL TEAR YOU APART!!!" Arkus roared, truely angered now.
Sayre and Blaze stood their ground, preparing another simultaneous dual attack against the Ardor leader.

******** Moonstar and Amethyst *********

Moonstar growled in triumph as Arkus was bowled over by the two dragon-wolves, rolling and smashing into the tree's base, widening the already large red demonic crack in it.
However, her moment of revelation was over as she saw him get up again, turning and glaring at them.
"I told you... the sun has set, look to your moon... it is filled with blood... enthralled by the demonic energies that have come forth... and neither you, nor your precious Amethyst can save you!" boomed the voice of the Ardor leader, and once again, he charged at Amethyst and Moonstar, moving faster this time.
Arkus whipped right past the two dragon-wolves, now coming on full speed at Moonstar and her mother.
Snarling, the wolfess prepared to fire a blast of holy energy, but then a loud yelp escaped her jaws as she was knocked aside, rolling a foot away from Amethyst and Arkus, her fur and skin scraping painfully against the ground.
Gritting her teeth, trying to push the pain to the back of her mind, Moonstar staggered to her feet, gasping as Arkus stood over Amethyst.
"Watch now! I will murder your precious leader... abandon your foolish pride... your pathetic hope!" the Ardor leader shouted, his claws glowing white as he lashed out convictingly at Amethyst, who lay on the ground, helpless...
" NO!!!!!!" Moonstar shouted, running over towards them, hoping to stop Arkus before he could finish his attack.
At that very moment, the painful shouts of Moonstar seemed to awaken something within Amethyst.
As the claws of Arkus approached, they were soon halted, as a shining barrier of pure, celestial energy surrounded Amethyst, the Ardor leader's claws striking it with a sound, like hard steel striking against steel.
A single word resounded in both Amethyst and Arkus' minds, " Order..."
The barrier then fluxed outwards, giving Arkus a mighty shove backwards, his feet plowing through the soil as he struggled to regain his footing.
"WRETCHED WITCH!!! YOU WILL DROWN IN THE BLOOD OF YOUR OFFSPRING!!! COME SERVANTS OF ORDER, THE ARDOR WILL TEAR YOU APART!!!" came Arkus' angered roar.
Immediately, the collapsed Amethyst's eyes began to glow white, holy, celestial energy filling her soul, empowering her.
With a growl, she got to her feet, now shining white eyes fixed on the enemy who had called her out, Arkus.
Her tan, scarred fur was beginning to turn white with dark blue, runic patterns, and enormous, angelic wings started to blossom from between her shoulders, surpassing even Arkus' in size.
Her draconic tail's green-blue scales turned light blue and golden, changing slightly in shape towards the tip, splitting into 12 tails of equal size, and glowing, golden rings surrounded each of her paws at the ankles.
A regal looking collar, wrought of heavenly light, gleaming Sky Crystals, and angel feathers, appeared about her neck, a cloak of blue and gold feather's extending out behind it, and a glowing, jewel encrusted, winged circlet hovered above her head.
Her fur now completely white and dark blue, and looking much like a goddess, Amethyst gave a loud, but melodious roar, a bright white aura surrounding her.
The sound caused discord among the Ardor, some tried to focus, but ended up crashing into the tree or the ground.
Amethyst snarled out, her words aimed directly at Arkus, " Unholy fiend! How dare you hurt my daughter and my pack, I will not stand by and watch you and your wretched servants destroy what I call my family!!! In the name of Order and the Balance, I will punish you!!!!"
Moonstar gasped aloud at the incredible amounts of holy energy her mother was giving off, whatever Amethyst had turned into, her power was at a seemingly infinitive high. Yet, somehow, she felt empowered by it, and immediately turned to face Arkus, approaching him menacingly.
As she finished her words, and letting out an enraged snarl, Amethyst charged, going right for Arkus, with Moonstar and the two dragon-wolves advancing upon him.
With gathering speed, a great leap, and a flap of her enormous wings, Amethyst soared, right over their heads, her fangs and claws bared.
" DIE!!!!!!"
The deafening roar resounded through the clearing as Amethyst crashed into Arkus, going right for his throat, intending to rip the thrice-damned thing right out of him.

Wolf Warriors: Eternal Twilight - Page 6 Empty

***Arkus***
A demonic roar escaped Arkus' throat as Amethyst sunk her teeth into his throat. He felt every individual living cell cry out in pain as she tore a chunk of flesh off him. This was not any ordinary chunk... it was deep, his esophagus and wind pipe were exposed as well as much muscular tissue. The bite as well, there was something seemingly serene about it, but it was slowly ripping away at his demonic powers.

Blood was pouring out of his neck, he felt is death near. He looked up at his killers, and gave them a smug look, and laughed manically.
"You FOOLS... you know not what you do! My death only serves to hasten my lord's return! I am one of the components necessary to his return!!"
The wolves looked confused, a bewildered look stuck on many of their faces, all but Amethyst, who's eyes widened in shock at what they had just done.
"Several things must be in place for my lord to return...
One, he may only return during a solar eclipse or a Blood Moon, for the sun, the representation of order in this world, must not be present.
Two, the last remnant of his power in this world, the Saiga Stone must be at the top of the spire of chaos.
Three, The Saiga Statue, the obsidian masterpiece that our lord speaks to Therebas through, the statue that possesses a portion of his soul, must be at the spire as well.
Four, a perfect hybrid must be sacrificed, and it appears that only one of you have figured it out... I am that hybrid, YOU just performed the blood sacrifice required to summon him!
Now bear witness, for the fifth and final requirement will now be met, Therebas is about to speak. You may not understand what he says, but in your mind he will be speaking plainly. This world... will be washed in the flames of inferno, and be remade beautiful... I hope Saiga torments each of your slowly... especially you... Amethyst...
Witch...
Wretch...
Dea...

Arkus breathed his last. His blood still draining from his body.
The ground shook violently momentarily, the cast majority of the wolves were knocked onto the ground, and many of the remaining ardor began to flee. Something was coming... something big... something even a demon would be afraid of. The pool of blood that had formed around Arkus began moving swiftly towards the Great Tree, as if it had a mind of its own. It moved towards the large scar in the tree, and then appeared to move through the scar, draining into the tree. At that moment, the scar began to glow a bright red, and the moon did the same.

*** Corion & Darius ***
"It appears the plan was successful, the moon is ready for lord Saiga's return... shall we return to Therebas and assist him in the summoning Darius?"
"It would be ideal brother... he will require us to balance out the massive power he is calling upon."
Darius pulled Corion into the shadows, reappearing at the Spire of Chaos.

*** Therebas ***
Therebas noticed the light bending behind him. Turning around he saw Corion and Darius appear.
"Good of you to come... Corion stand by the Saiga stone, Darius the statue."
They nodded and moved to their given postitions.
"My most trusted lieutenants... we begin now, Saiga's resurrection is near."
Therebas walked over to the edge of the balcony, he opens his mouth and his voice echoed on the winds to the farthest corners of Great Forest.
"Mortals!! Your time is up! This world will become bathed in the darkness of Inferno!! Your precious order will cease to exist!! Your frail balance will be overthrown!! COWER NOW!!! BEFORE YOUR LORD AND MASTER!!! BOW YOUR HEADS IN REVERENCE FOR HE COMES WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF YOUR PATHETIC TREE!!!"
Therebas walked over to the ritual circle. His voice quieted.
"Brothers... we begin now."
Therebas focused his energies, as did Corion and Darius, the magical pressure in the area increased as a result.
"Once defeated by order, once imprisoned by balance. He who was sealed in a world's dimensional border. In his name I call him, as part of the terms of our alliance. I command this power to come forth and enter this realm!"
The circle beneath them, the statue, and the stone all began to glow with a sinister red color. Therebas forced his voice to echo once more.
"AMETHYST! Look! You have failed!! He comes... and with him comes the death of the Dea who defeated him before! Look at your friends... those who gorged themselves on his energy... his DEMONIC energy! They have become tainted... they will always feel the allure of demonic energy.. its enthralling presence, its unspeakable power! And now... this world will be bathed in the wondrous energies of Inferno!! BREATH YOUR LAST BREATH!!!"
Therebas took in a deep breath... and uttered the words of damnation. They were world shattering words, and had rarely been spoken in the history of Great Forest, but they were horribly powerful.
"TELOC VOVIN A GRAA ORS TABA ORD AVAVAGO! (Let these words condemn a people, I call into this world the Great Hungerer so that his power may wash over this world and cover it in utter darkness)"
With every word he spoke, the world shook more and more violently. The skies thundered and lightning struck the ground rapidly. Mountains collapsed, the strongest trees fell, the winds blew at speeds unheard of, creating massive tornadoes. Tsunami's crashed into the continent, earthquakes caused large chasms in the world to form, and from many magma spewed upwards. Strangely calm, Therebas had a smile on his face.
"Only one more thing remains... the uttering of the prophecy, the sixth secret requirement.
Intus universitas de vicis
Aevum vadum duco ut suus terminus.
Deus , quisnam subpono astrum ,
Mos vinco suum partum...
Etiamnunc, Cado Unus vadum subsisto,
Fatum tectum Inritus en umbra...
Pro ligatio unus excito ex suus Profundus Dormio,
Is vadum effrego cyclus superum,
Edo totus lux lucis quod spes.
Infit per Valde Ieiunium.
Is termini en sono obscurum.
(In the fullness of time
The cycle shall draw to its end.
The Deus, who forged the stars,
Will transcend their creation....
Yet, the Fallen One shall remain,
Destined to cover the Void in shadow...
Before the imprisoned one wakes from her
Deep Slumber,
He shall break the cycle of the gods,
Devouring all light and hope.
It begins with the Great Hungerer.
It ends in utter darkness.)"
Demonic power manifested itself in the center of the circle and then shot upwards, obliterating the roof of the spire. The moved towards the great tree and struck it with great force. The tree began to glow red.... and a sinister laughter was heard.

Therebas looked at the circle, the statue was now destroyed, as was the stone, the debris from the destroyed roof had collapsed upon Corion and Darius. They were dead...
"Brothers... your souls are with Saiga now... perhaps he will give you another chance to serve him..."

***Saiga***
The tree was glowing red, its leaves began to turn grey and fall off, and its bark was rotting. Laughter was echoing from beneath the tree. The laughter grew stronger, and the bark of the tree began to split as the laughter became stronger. Then, the laughter became a powerful roar. The tree exploded, bark and branches flew everywhere, the top half of the tree remained mostly intact and fell nearby.

After the dust had cleared, a hole had appeared where the tree once stood. It was massive, and appeared as if it was a entrance to another world. Floating above it, was a beast, a horribly twisted and corrupted being, floating above it, was the Deus of Chaos, Saiga Shadowstalker. He had a smug look on his corrupted face.
"Amethyst... so good to see you again after so many years."

His appearance had changed greatly over the course of his imprisonment. His fur was now completely black, his claws had extended in length and increased in sharpness greatly, an unholy version of the pentagram had appeared on the back of each of his hands, he wore runic bracers around his wrists and ankles, his eyes looked like an empty night sky, almost like they weren't even there. Black marks trailed down from his eye to the lower part of his muzzle, his fangs had grown immensely, and horns had formed on his head and beneath his jaw. His tail had become long, thick and fur-less, like a demon's tail and had many spikes at the end. He had grown spikes on his elbow and knee joints, and well as on each shoulder blade on his back. These spikes on his back emitted large amounts of green flame which served as his wings, on his body scars had formed; Two following his trapezius muscle to the center of his chest, on his chest a scar on each of his pectoral muscle had formed, on his left shoulder a scar looking like a deep gouge made by an animal had appeared, and he retained the scar on his right eye. In place on paws on his feet, he now had cloven hooves like quite a few demons also did.

Saiga looked around, he saw the warriors, many of whom he recognized... He noticed Gyre... who strangely gave off an aura similar to Lak's. He looked back to Amethyst... her aura was much weaker than it was the last time they fought, despite being evil, he still held a great amount of honor.
"Your powers as a Dea have reawakened! However they are nowhere near the strength they had the last time we fought... something is... missing... As a favor I will not kill you and your warrior friends yet..."
He continued to look around, many wolves were struggling to get to their feet, attempting to run away, but one... one wolf stood out among the rest... despite being a corpse.
"Ahhh... Arkus... Therebas' perfect hybrid, intended as a sacrifice to bring me into this world. Storm would have been perfect as well, but she managed to subjugate the demon inside her... for now. It is sad that you had such little use Arkus... I'm not yet finished with you..."

Saiga held up a hand, the runes on his bracers glowing with a sickly green, and the symbols on the back of his hand began to glow a dark, sinister purple.
"Excitate vos aeterna somnos te absolvo mortis tenebris frigidis amplexus ad saeculum redire vivi cum invocantem nomen tuum ARKUS!"(Arise from your eternal slumber, I free you from death's cold dark embrace, return to the world of the living when I call your name! ARKUS!)
Arkus' corpse began to float in mid air, dark purple winds began to swirl around his body and the sound of bones breaking filled the air. His arms and legs were gruesomely torn off and then held together with demonic magic. As the winds died down and Arkus touched the ground, he opened his now blackened eyes.
"Welcome back to the world of the living child... you're just in time to witness the corrupting of this realm."
Arkus looked at his arms, darkness flowing between his shoulder and his arm, and his arm and his forearm, keeping them together. He looked at his wings, now tattered and filled with holes, a few of his ribs were exposed, and his 'halo' had shattered. He touched his chest where his heart would be... and found only a gaping hole that he could put his hand through and touch his back. He realized what he had become.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"What's the matter my child? You should be rejoicing at another chance to serve me!"
"Therebas... never told me... of this... this... wretched torment! I was to die as a sacrifice! And move onto paradise!! Free from YOU!! I... I learned what you did... they told me of their past... you corrupted them... they truly were once angels, but you stole that from them... I served you in life... but I will NEVER serve you in death!"
"Then you will perish with the warriors!!! DEMONS OF INFERNO COME FORTH AND CORRUPT THIS LAND!!!"
Start running Arkus... I guess Therebas gave you a slight flaw... you think too much...

A dark crimson barrier began to radiate outwards from the hole Saiga was floating above, it corrupted the land killing the plant life or converting it demonically. Wolves that were caught in the barrier's energies became twisted and corrupted, losing their will to Saiga. The ground shattered, chunks of the land began to float in mid air, the ground turned black and the waters around it green. Demons spewed out of the portal and Saiga laughed.
"RUN WARRIORS!!! RUN!! YOU WILL ALL BE MINE IN THE END!!!!"

Arkus got to his feet and began running towards the warriors, he pointed and circled his finger, after which he opened his hand and thrust his palm forward, creating a portal made of shadows.
"WARRIORS!! The corruption is too great!! Enter the portal!! It will take you to the temple of Balance only there will we truly be safe!!"
"Only the temple of balance will be able to be our sanctuary... chances are because Saiga overthrew order... the temple of order will fall to the corruption as well."
"The portal will remain until you are all through! GO! NOW!!!"
Arkus entered... hoping they would heed his voice and trust him, despite past animosity.

Also the demonic powers Blaze and Sayre acquired, to normal wolves using or absorbing demonic energy is addicting because of its power, however Sayre and Blaze are not normal wolves and will remain unaffected by the addiction unless you decide otherwise!!)

********** Sayre, Moonstar, Amethyst **********

Sayre gasped in awe as Amethyst, now in the form of some kind of angel, leapt over their heads, teeth and claws bared as she crashed into Arkus.
Her teeth seized Arkus' throat, ripping out a huge chunk of it, exposing his windpipe and esophagus, and more muscle as well, blood flying from the wound.
Blaze seemed awed as well, but he kept watching in anticipation.
The strong scent of blood hit their noses, inciting their bloodlust, and they made to spring forward to tear Arkus to pieces.
"You FOOLS... you know not what you do! My death only serves to hasten my lord's return! I am one of the components necessary to his return!!" Arkus roared as he looked at them, a smug grin across his face as he laughed manically.
Most of the other wolves seemed bewildered as to what he was trying to convey, but Amethyst knew perfectly well, and her eyes widened at what she had done.
" No...." she whispered, her white eyes filling with dread as Arkus continued.
Amethyst...
Witch...
Wretch...
Dea..." and with that, Arkus keeled over, dying, his blood forming a pool about his mangled body.
Suddenly, a great quake shook the ground, knocking a large number of the wolves over, and many of the remaining Ardor began to flee.
As if it had a mind all it's own, the blood about Arkus began to move towards the scar in the tree's base, draining into it.
The scar began to glow a bright red, as the moon followed suit, glowing the same bright red.
A loud, booming voice filled the area, echoing to the farthest corners of the Great Forest, loud enough for all to hear.
Amethyst's eyes widened, and she cried out, " The tree! Look to the tree!!!"
"AMETHYST!
"TELOC VOVIN A GRAA ORS TABA ORD AVAVAGO! " came the words, those very words, the blasphemous, unspeakable words of damnation, the world shaking more and more violently as each letter, every syllable, every word was spoken.
Streaks of red lightning flashed, striking rapidly and continously at several places on the ground, the winds kicked up, blowing harder than any gale ever known to wolf, forming massive tornadoes across the continent, whole mountains fell within seconds, the strongest of trees were uprooted and toppled.
Great tsunamis crashed against the edges of the land, massive earthquakes tore the very ground asunder, sending boiling magma forth!
Laughter echoed from beneath the Great Tree as it's leaves turned grey, withering and falling off, only to be caught in the violent, rushing winds, and the bark began to decay, peeling off in enormous chunks.
The laughter grew louder, stronger, until it became a horrendous roar!
What remained of the Great Tree's base exploded, sending bits of dead bark and dust everywhere.
The top of the tree shot off like a rocket, flipping through the air several times before landing with a thunderous THUD nearby.
Coughing, the wolves looked in horror as the dust cleared, revealing a great, fathomless hole where the Great Tree's base once stood, above it, floating in the air, was a demon, so great, so powerful, many of the wolves shrank back in utter fear, but Amethyst stood firm, glaring at the being as a smug smirk crossed it's face.
"Amethyst... so good to see you again after so many years," the being said, addressing Amethyst in a voice as cold as ice, but burned like infernal flame.
" Saiga Shadowstalker.... and to think I helped to bring you back into this world, monster..." growled Amethyst in return, practically spitting out the word 'monster' in hate.
Moonstar's eyes widened, her mother, Amethyst, was actually a DEA?! And this monster that was in front of them now was SAIGA SHADOWSTALKER?!
Saiga looked around at the Warriors gathered, seeming to recognize Moonstar, Storm, and a select few others.
"Your powers as a Dea have reawakened! However they are nowhere near the strength they had the last time we fought... something is... missing... As a favor I will not kill you and your warrior friends yet..." Saiga spoke to Amethyst once more, a cold grin crossing his face once more.
His eyes soon settled on the corpse of Arkus, "Ahhh... Arkus... Therebas' perfect hybrid, intended as a sacrifice to bring me into this world. Storm would have been perfect as well, but she managed to subjugate the demon inside her... for now. It is sad that you had such little use Arkus... I'm not yet finished with you..."
Saiga raised a hand, the runes on the bracers about his arms glowing a sickly green, and the runes on the back of his hand glowing a deep, dark purple.
"Excitate vos aeterna somnos te absolvo mortis tenebris frigidis amplexus ad saeculum redire vivi cum invocantem nomen tuum ARKUS!" he commanded, as Arkus' body lifted up into the air.
Purple energies in the form of winds encircled his body, and the sickening sound of breaking bones filled the air.
Arkus' limbs were torn off mercilessly, floating away from his body, but remained tethered to him by demonic energies, his blackened eyes opening as he once more touched the ground.
"Welcome back to the world of the living child... you're just in time to witness the corrupting of this realm," Saiga said to him.
Arkus looked at himself, at his limbs, now bound to him by dark energies, his once lovely, white feathery wings tattered and torn, his chest ripped wide open, exposing a deep black hole, and a few of his ribs, and the halo above his head had shattered to pieces.
He reached down and touched the hole in his chest, and a look of shock and absolute horror crossed his face.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Arkus wailed, his agonized, pain-filled screams ringing through the nearly decimated area as he fell to his knees.
"What's the matter my child? You should be rejoicing at another chance to serve me!" Saiga roared, raising his arms above his head in triumph.
"Therebas... never told me... of this... this... wretched torment! I was to die as a sacrifice! And move onto paradise!! Free from YOU!! I... I learned what you did... they told me of their past... you corrupted them... they truly were once angels, but you stole that from them... I served you in life... but I will NEVER serve you in death!" Arkus shouted at him, glaring angrily at the Deus of Chaos.
Saiga snorted, not at all fazed by Arkus' words, "Then you will perish with the warriors!!! DEMONS OF INFERNO COME FORTH AND CORRUPT THIS LAND!!!"
A dark crimson barrier began to flux outwards from the hole Saiga floated over, wolves that were caught in the energies were twisted in terrible, demonic ways.
The land began to become corrupted, plant life withering away or being converted demonically.
Nearby, the very land began to shatter, sending up large chunks of it into midair, the ground turning black, the water a terrible green color.
Demons began to spew forth from the opened portal, and Saiga laughed, "RUN WARRIORS!!! RUN!! YOU WILL ALL BE MINE IN THE END!!!!"
Immediately, Arkus got to his feet and ran towards the Warriors, most of whom were in shock and fear at what was going on.
He pointed a clawed finger and circled it, then thrust his palm outwards, and a rift of shadows appeared in the center of the Warriors.
"WARRIORS!! The corruption is too great!! Enter the portal!! It will take you to the temple of Balance only there will we truly be safe!! The portal will remain until you are all through! GO! NOW!!!"
And with that, Arkus stepped into the portal, disappearing before their eyes.
Amethyst yelled out, " Warriors!! Through the portal, now!!! We don't have any other choice!"
Without a word more, the Dea of Order grabbed Storm, her sister and the trusted deputy of the Clan, by the scruff of her neck like a pup, and quickly tossed her into the portal, watching her disappear.
Blaze, giving a low snarl, charged forth, aiming directly at Saiga, teeth and claws bared.
The Deus of Chaos smirked as the dragon-wolf approached him, and held out a hand, the purple runes on his hand glowing as he fired a burst of infernal energy at him.
Blaze leapt, heading right for the blast, as Amethyst shouted out to him.
Then, just mere seconds before he could make contact with the blast, there was a flash, as a wolf, with red and black fur, great, red dragon wings, and one leg covered in crimson scales, appeared in front of Blaze.
The attack hit the visage, causing to shatter, and the remaining force hit Blaze full on...
He tumbled to the ground, bleeding very badly, and was trying to get back up.
As Amethyst watched the scene, she thought she saw the image of her long-lost love... Blaze, appear, before the attack shattered it...
" Blaze...." she said softly, mournfully, memories of her love flowing through her mind, when she first met him, when they had been retreating during the Battle of Gan'arg, and when they had Moonstar and Rijo...
The last memory was of when Blaze had sacrificed himself to try to kill an enemy, and how she had howled out in agony and grief...
Amethyst snapped back to reality, focusing on the situation at hand, and ran up towards the mayhem.
She grabbed the dragon-wolf by the scruff of his neck, her healing energies seeping into him, and ran into the portal with him, disappearing within, as Sayre watched all hell unfold before her, awestruck.
The demonic energies were telling her, commanding her to go closer to Saiga, to succumb to his will, until she felt teeth lock around her neck scruff and tug her towards the portal Arkus had opened.
" Come on, Sayre, we need to get out of here, now..." came a familiar voice, that of Makair's.
Sayre turned her head to face him, her eyes glowing green once more before returning to their normal blue, but did not resist him, letting him drag her into the portal after Amethyst and Blaze.
Moonstar looked up at Gyre, then to Lak, " Let's go you two! We don't have much time!!"
Her brother Rijo, leading a large number of the clan, ran into the rift, disappearing as well.
Hashiru and Jurkaiu were herding a number of the Warriors pups into the rift, Mini Amethyst, Theron, Solacea, Skylett, and Stormcloud following through with their children as well.
Nor'a ushered Nom, Grim, and Arka into the portal, " Go! I'll be in there soon!"
The white werepyre goddess flew over towards Lak, who stood there, as if frozen, his crimson eyes only looking on in horror at what was becoming of the Great Forest.
She grabbed him around the middle, hefting him over her shoulder, and flew towards the rift, grabbing Gyre as well from the raised, square rock he stood on, before taking them into the rift.
Several of the wolves from the clans in the clearing who were fleeing ran into the rift as well, seeking shelter from the chaos erupting in the world.
Once everyone that was going through had gone in, Moonstar entered finally, passing through it.
She only looked back once, seeing Saiga's devious smirk before the rift's entrance shrieked closed, and soon, her paws met soft grass.
They had landed on what looked to be a forest plain, snow topped mountains rose up, tall and proud in the background, the trees were a bright green, greener than any trees found in the Great Forest, and five, sparkling rivers of water, clearer and purer than pure crystal itself, flowed serenely, flowing over the edge of what was, in reality, a huge, floating continent, forming waterfalls that fell into nonexistence below.
About the trees, Fyreflys flitted, but looked slightly bigger than the ones they had seen at the Great Tree, deer loped about, eating grass and looking after their fawns.
In the center of the continent, nestled amid the mountains, was a large, stone building, topped with a spire-tipped dome, and surrounding it were four, smaller stone temples, each one pointing in the four cardinal directions.
Stairs carved from stone blended in naturally with the mountains, leading to the various parts of the temple, the place seemed almost like a second Great Forest...
" W-where are we?" she asked, seeing the wolves about her staring in awe.
The Dea of Order, Amethyst, spoke, " We are at the Temple of Balance... this is the only truly safe place we have now..."
She was rather saddened, by the fact that she was not able to prevent Chaos from rising into the world, that now the Balance was upset...
" Mother..." Moonstar began, but Amethyst shushed her.
" Quiet now, child, for now, I suggest you rest, all of you, except for you, Arkus..." she said, looking over to the corrupted, former Ardor leader.
Moonstar nodded, and walked over towards Gyre, the black wolf, and the two dragonwolves, who now seemed to be back to normal, now no longer exposed to the infernal energies.
Meanwhile, the Dea of Order walked over to Arkus, and looked at him.
But her eyes were not filled with hate or spite for him, rather, they were full of pity and remorse.
" O, once-true angel... do you now see what has become of you? Your once proud, pure white wings now torn and shredded? Your symbolic halo now tainted and shattered into pitiful fragments? Your once wholesome body now frayed and sundered gruesomely? A hole of eternal blackness that stands now where a pure heart once was?
Look at yourself, Arkus, and tell me, is this truly what you wished for? To die for your chaotic lord, only to have your soul deprived of eternal peace in paradise to live on in this monstrous skin? Will you now open your eyes and see what will become of the world?
Tell me now, Arkus, do you wish to right the wrongs you have done? Do you wish to redeem yourself, and have a second chance at paradise, to become pure and whole once more?"

As she spoke, she stood up on her hind legs, walking closer to him.
Closing her eyes, she wrapped her wings about him, placing a paw-hand on his forehead, waiting for his answer.
If he truly did wish to redeem himself, she would be able to grant him amnesty, so that he may be free to serve for the right cause, but to free his soul from his twisted, mangled body so that it may live on in paradise, she had not yet the strength to do so...

"My lady... I truly never wished this... many months ago the ardor were ordered by my once commander, Therebas, to go to the great tree and capture wolves as test subjects for his hybridization project. I was one of his last test subjects... after your friend Storm. He saw that she overcame the demon because she had the will to do so... that was her flaw that he needed to correct.

The hybrids he creates now are infused with the essence of the 8 Great Infernal Demons, though each one only is infused with one specific essence it allows them great power. They're also given a small amount of 'Warrior' DNA as he called it... one of his hybrids collected genetic samples from your clan... it was what kept the hybrids stable... you were all previous exposed to his dark energies, and as such you have a minor resistance to them instead of the affinity most wolves have.

Now... back to Storm's 'flaw' as he called it... how did he make me 'perfect'? He broke my will... most of us were unconscious during the infusion process, and when I woke up my demon was specially crafted for me. I was infused with the essence of the Great Demoness of Sacrifice, Axoria, the only female great demon. The demon formed within me was given a command by Therebas... should I refuse to comply with his orders the demon would literally attack my soul... causing me immense pain... to great to bear... I never had a choice... when you killed me... you killed the demon inside, though Axoria still lives my inner demon was defeated and I regained my will. Hence why I turned on Saiga, I only did what I did because I thought that I could escape them in death... but I was sadly wrong... I have lost my holy powers because of him, and can now only command the shadows and darkness...

I wish to absolve myself of all this... all that I have been forced to do... I never wanted this great one... please... allow me to atone.. I can be of great use to your clan. I can craft armor for them, I can fight for you PLEASE!!! Let me have a chance to redeem myself!!! Also... I... I know the location of the Temple of Chaos... where Therebas resides..."

The undead wolf's blackened, empty eyes looked up at amethyst pleading for forgiveness, but behind them... a want for vengeance against his oppressors, those who corrupted him and raised him from the dead

********* Amethyst, Dea of Order ********

Amethyst closed her eyes as Arkus spoke, listening and taking in every word he said.
They're also given a small amount of 'Warrior' DNA as he called it... one of his hybrids collected genetic samples from your clan... it was what kept the hybrids stable... you were all previous exposed to his dark energies, and as such you have a minor resistance to them instead of the affinity most wolves have."
A slight growl came to Amethyst's face as he spoke about Storm's flaw, and how the hybrids made were given small amounts of 'Warrior' DNA, provided when one of his hybrids collected DNA samples from the clan.
Memories came flooding back to her, the Ardor truely had once been angels before, Servants of Order... but they had sided with Chaos, and, while it did not take away their angelic appearances, it took away most of their abilities to control holy energy, only a select few maintained a slight bit of their holy energies.
Arkus had been one of those who had....
Her face turned neutral again, and she became attentive once more as Arkus went on,
"Now... back to Storm's 'flaw' as he called it... how did he make me 'perfect'? "
Arkus had been infused with Axoria's essences, and his inner demon had been given a command by Therebas, and if he did not follow through, the demon would literally attack his soul, causing him to lose his free will...
Her eyes opened again as he spoke of how when she had killed him, she had also killed the inner demon within him, and he had regained his will, which was why he had turned on Saiga after being ressurected.
The corrupted angel then fell to his knees, pleading her, "I wish to absolve myself of all this... all that I have been forced to do... I never wanted this, Great One... please... allow me to atone.. I can be of great use to your clan. I can craft armor for them, I can fight for you, PLEASE!!! Let me have a chance to redeem myself!!! Also... I... I know the location of the Temple of Chaos... where Therebas resides..."
Amethyst looked deep into his eyes, she could see the soul within him begging her for forgiveness, yet, there was something else there as well, anger and want of vengeance against Saiga and his followers, for corrupting him and depriving him of paradise.
Her face softened, and the paw-hand on Arkus' forehead began to glow, " Then by the power invested within me, I will grant you amnesty. You will be forgiven for your crimes, and I shall give you a chance to redeem yourself for the good of the Balance...
I will also give you a second chance to go to paradise when the time has come, but I do not have the strength required to do so as of now...
The chaos and bloodshed that happened in the mortal world affects the power of the Deus and Dea... because there was more fighting and rise of rivalries, Saiga, the Deus of Chaos, became empowered by it, and I was weakened...
If I am to defeat Chaos and help to restore the Balance, I must acquire more strength...
Until I am able to do so, I give you this chance to atone yourself, to become pure again, you will be of great use to the Clan, Arkus, my child..."

Amethyst considered all Servants of Order her children, even her sons and daughters were Servants of Order, but they have yet to realize their full potentials.
She looked into Arkus' black, empty eyes with her own, glowing white ones, as she removed her paw-hand, leaving a glowing, white winged runic symbol on his forehead, the Mark of Amnesty.

******** Sayre *********

Sayre lay down against a tree, feeling a bit dizzy and sickly after she had returned to her normal self.
What had happened back there? Had she almost turned to the side of Chaos?
She could remember the feel of the demonic energies as her body absorbed them, that feeling of euphoria...
That feeling of ecstasy... pure ecstasy!!!
For once she had felt...powerful, strong, able to do what she wanted, such as when she joined her brother's reckless attack against Arkus...
There was still a slight kink in her neck from when her skull had made impact against Arkus, she had easily shrugged off the pain when she was in that 'state,' but now the pain was starting to get to her.
She looked over to Makair, who was nearby, and smiled, he had saved her, having dragged her through the portal when all hell had started to break loose.
Sighing, Sayre rested her head on her paws, still remembering how strong she had felt... she wanted to feel that way again....no, not want.... NEED to feel it again...
She shook her head, what was wrong with her? Why was she experiencing this sudden need?
It was probably nothing, she just needed some sleep, that's all.
Sayre's eyes slowly closed, and she lapsed into sleep.

***Arkus***
He felt himself bathed in holy energies... but strangely they did not burn as they should have. It was well known that holy power often would harm undead creatures greatly, but this was different. He felt the last remnants of the demonic energies within him dissipate as the holy power of Amethyst enveloped him. He moved his hand, attempting to move the shadows of a near by tree and bending the darkness of the shadow to his will... Strangely, the shadow did so willingly, as if it wanted to help him. Before when he used demonic magic to control the shadow he could always feel it resisting him very slightly. Now though, he had been forgiven.

Something didn't make sense though... where was his lust for more demonic energies? He had been exposed to them for so long, and utilized them heavily... why wasn't he addicted? This thought triggered another, which escaped his mouth without him realizing what he had said before it was too late.

"Amethyst, I fear for your child Moonstar... she was exposed to demonic energies, you may wish to see if she's alright. I'm sure the others will be fine... Please attend to her... I will remain in the near by clearing, testing what powers I have left, and attempting to fix my now undead self... slightly... I may be able to patch up some holes or at the very least cover them up... Please if you could also inform the others? I realize that when they see me they will be very speculative... and doubting... please.. tell them my story... let them know that you absolved me of my crimes."

Gyre stayed silent through the event. It wasn't his place to pass judgement. That was for the Clan's leader.
Arkus had been forgiven? Strange... No... Rather, unbelievable.
Amethyst's heart had incomprehensible depths, Gyre concluded.

Looking around, Gyre took in the foreign surroundings. No stories of Lak could have prepared him for this, nor the red eclipse prior.
The young wolf sat, hoping someone would lead the way to answers.
